Simon Camilleri is the founder and coordinator of Elephant Room, a Melbourne-based ministry that helps Christians live a gospel-centred life in a porn-saturated world.

Simon started the ministry in 2010 after his own long journey out of porn addiction. What he discovered on the way was that it was not only a journey OUT of something – it was also a journey INTO something. Namely, into a deeper, richer and more satisfying relationship with Jesus.

This became the heart of “Elephant Room” – to not only help Christians become free from the harmful and addictive power of pornography, but to also point them to the gospel as their hope, joy and satisfaction. Hebrews 12:1-2 has since become a sort of “mission statement” for the ministry: “Let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith.”

For the last few years, Simon has led an ER Support Group in the Northern Suburbs of Melbourne for Christian guys struggling with the addictive effects of porn. This weekly group will be starting again in April and Simon is presently taking expressions of interest. If you or someone you know would like to join, please contact Simon immediately to find out more information.

Here’s what some of the guys in the group have said about how it has helped them:

“While attending the ER support group I really found the support phenomenal. I discovered I was not alone in the issues I had been struggling with surrounding pornography.”

“ER helped me get perspective on the issue of pornography, to learn strategies to overcome it, and most importantly, to refocus on my relationship with Christ as my source of fulfilment.”

“At ER I found a group of brothers who genuinely cared about me and my wellbeing, committed to supporting me in my journey away from porn.”

“ER has been a chance to commit to Jesus a part of my life I’ve kept hidden”
