Why speak about porn at church?

REDMINUTE No. 18

Pastor, Dr Allan Meyer answers the question “Why speak about porn at church?”

The church needs to be involved in the issue of pornography because it is such a damaging issue. It is damaging to families, causing marriages and relationships to fall apart. For men who struggle, they dislike themselves, feel unloved by God and unworthy to serve in church life.

The truth is that good men struggle with pornography, good men struggle with their thoughts, their emotions and their passions. If they get help then they manage the issue well. If they don’t get help it can mean their marriages fail or for some, they can end up in prison, they don’t feel like they can pray, they don’t feel like they can be leaders in their church or in their family. There are many reasons why the church needs to tackle the issue of pornography.

We also know that pornography is a problem for women – for more on this, visit the women’s section of our website.

Dr Allan Meyer is founder of Careforce Lifekeys and author of the book “From Good Man to Valiant Man.”
